Where Everything is Music

Where Everything is Music, taken from Coleman Barks’ Rumi translation of the same name, underscores the ineffable connection between words, music, humanity and nature, weaving readings, chamber music, and harmonica improvisations of Chris Turner. An excellent introduction to contemporary poetry, this charming and audience-friendly program includes poetry and translations with strong musical connotations, paired with an eclectic mix of musical styles, from Bach to the present for String Trio.  The program includes Mozart transcriptions of Bach three part inventions; Mozart Divertimento; Dohnanyi Serenade; improvisations of Chris Turner; poetry of Rumi, Mary Oliver, Lisel Mueller, Billy Collins, RW Thomas and May Sarton.
